As a Payroll Researcher (m/f/d) within our Product and Engineering department you will work at the interface between payroll knowledge and the product teams. You are a technical expert on payroll and the first point of contact for questions about the payroll domain. You also help our product teams to solve particularly technical and complex issues. Furthermore, you support our product management in the further development of the Personio Payroll software by bringing your in-depth product and payroll knowledge from specification to quality assurance to the table. You will be based in Madrid and will work closely with our Product & Engineering teams there as well as with your Munich-based colleagues.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze data and processes from different sources to be able to transfer the payroll knowledge into payroll features for the German market
• Create scenarios for the automated testing of new features and bug fixes
• Involvement in quality assurance by being a major responsible for new features acceptance phase
• Awareness of all payroll legislation changes in Germany and education of the team in order to ensure compliance
• Close knowledge gaps in the team regarding the German market

• You have successfully completed your business studies with a focus on accounting / controlling or your vocational training as a tax clerk or payroll clerk
• You have at least 5 years of payroll experience and are able to understand and make calculations by yourself
• You have a strong interest in payroll and keep updated about legal changes for the German Payroll market
• You are a communication talent and strong in explaining and visualizing complex issues
• You think analytically, work data-driven and tackle challenges proactively
• You are communicative with very good German (C2 level) and English spoken and written
• You have experience in working with Excel / Spreadsheet
